Schedule

The plan is to let user voting finish off through Saturday night. Sunday, the user ratings will be taken as the final numbers, and added to the panel scores. That night, the winners will be announced. Good luck everyone!

Can we assume that all scores (including panel) will be made public when the contest is over? I know I'll be curious to see how each panelist rates the various entries. Will be crucial in making the end results appear fair, I would think.

I don't know if those scores are going public or not, actually... but I hope to they do.

Heh, I can see it now if they don't go public. Phill will be hung for a conspiracy theory

completely irrelevant... this contest has been slashdotted.

Hey, I have a question for Phil:
When the top mockups get made into themes, are the themers allowed to alter the theme so that it looks better?

Posted by ric zito at April 3, 2004 12:53 PM

Mushu :

...if they aren't, I hereby withdraw my entry :-)
Assuming it finishes in the top 6 of course...

I, at least, will get together and talk with the author and discuss with him(/her?) how the theme could be improved and what is possible and what is not. I think all themers will do the same to make the final theme as good as possible.

I was always under the impression it was to be a collaborative effort, how much so depending on how much time the mockup creator wanted to spend working on it.

Posted by Paul Johnson at April 3, 2004 09:55 PM

Absolutely. At least for me, it will certainly be a collaborative effort. I look forward to learning the precise constraints of the format--things like the exact pixel dimensions available to any given button, etc. I don't know about the other entries, but NickleCobalt will certainly need to evolve to fit the format. And I'm actually excited about it!

Now the thought of making complete icon sets isn't quite so exciting... Heh-heh.
