Tubist
Author: Paul Armstrong

Description: The idea comes from an old Kaleidoscope them called "Cubist" that I used way back in the day. I always wanted to change it from using cubes to "tubes". This was done pretty quickly and would definitely spend more time on it for a final product.
Biography: Student at the University of Minnesota, majoring in Art, Advertising, and Communications. I am more experienced with photography and web design and thought I would give interface design a chance.

Interesting theme, with the angled look that all the tubes give. I like the soft gradients and the menus are real fancy. However, the ends of the tubes look like they suffer from a bit of bad masking and the metal window sort of ruins the perspective for me. The checkboxes looks odd also.
It's a mediocre, but interesting, theme.

This definitely has the allure of a really scratch your head idea. The idea is cool, but the execution a bit bland. I recommend adding some color. Also, in my opinion, the menu is a bit cluttered, and the checkmark boxes cryptic. This is a really weird, interesting idea, and I think it could be pretty good with some improvement. Good job, however, in avoiding inconsistency with the cylinders' perspective. This was probably a problem that might have caused a lot of trouble, but was skirted pretty neatly.

Another grey theme with standard gradients and bevels. Sorry, but I can't get that excited. The caps on elements is a unique approach, but it doesn't sit well with me... there needs to be more polish.
A few things are also really bugging me. There isn't an Apple in the Apple menu, there isn't an arrow in the pulldown menu, and there aren't any arrows for the scroll bar. Window widgets lack graphics as well. Those are huge hits to usability.

Where did this theme come from? It wasn't up with the others at the start of voting.
Sorry, not my type of theme. There are already an overpopulation of grey and white themes. Interesting idea though.

Not my cup a tea but the slider bar (with the tube around a narrow pole) that is fantastic!

this is awesome! I love the depth perception that the tubes create. so many of the other themes are bland and two dimensional...this it makes me feel like I really can reach out and slide the sliders. so rad.
