Very nice. Straight lines in corners are usually a crutch used by those who can't get the pixelization in curves to look quite right, but Forty-Five handled the angles very well and it looks like the sharp corners were always the intent. The scroll bar is excellent, and I like the selected menu item a lot too. Props also on the progress bars, the colors in this theme work really well together and that's especially true here (whereas the top bevel on the popup button looks a little too harsh because there isn't as a wide an area of color).

That said, some of the buttons seem to not have enough contrast around their edges and they fade into the background a bit too much, while the inactive checkbox and radio button look active and the active state looks clicked. The selected tab is a nice idea, but it gets lost amidst the other elements.

The angles rock! This mockup is very minimalistic from first sight, but I don't think that the Aqua gloss is out of place at all. I really like how the active elements stick out significantly in comparison to the inactive elements. Contrary to Harlan, I like the idea Étienne had with the selected tab, I love how it gets out of the way. However, I feel that the checkboxes and radio buttons seem out of place among the other elements; they're engraved and glossy, unlike the other elements, which all have an outer bevel/shadow. The menu bar selections don't seem to fit in either. Other than that, the off-white and gray really go together superbly.

I disagree with harlan's assessment of straight-line usage, I just think curves are overused and easier to screw up. I like the minimalist approach here, really dig the inset selected tab... but ut is a little boring for my tastes, and I think the notch in the upper left corner of all the rectangles requires an opposing notch in the lower right for balance somehow. But that's me.

I like the angles you used here. I don't like the tabs too much but they are definitely creative.

Hmm... Maybe if there were no aqua materials left. The 45° angles and beige gives it somewhat of a futuristic look, but they aqua stuff ruins it for me.

Mmm... pretty angles. The depressed look of the highlighted menu item is also fun. I dislike the expansion-contraction widget (there's probably a technical term for that; the one all the way on the right). I just don't get the metaphor: the window expands downwards and contracts upwards. Why are the arrows pointing to the right?

I like the angles, but overall just a little too grey.

Like everything about this including the grey. This is something I'd use for sure

one of the only theme in here i'd be able to keep for more than 2 days...nice job.

I think this theme is definitely one of the more usable ones in the contest, but I am obviously biased because Etienne is my friend and I gave him feedback before he sent it in. I just think that with a little more tweaking, it could be one of the best minimalist themes.

Better than simple grey which one! Go figure. Could've beeen in the top 6. Very usable. clean and pleasant. The judges votes clearly put some unusable themes in the 3, 4, 5, & 6. Positions. Too bad I would've like to have seen this developed.

Well, I can tell you that Etienne and I will be working on updating the mock-up and resubmitting it at the next - if there is one - theme mock-up contest. We will be taking and comments and criticisms into account.
I cannot take credit for this version, but I'm really glad that there is an interest.
