An admirable effort at creating a mockup similar to GarageBand, but unfortunately this mockup is marred by the use of basic Photoshop bevel styles and inconsistency between them. The wood and metal textures are decent, but they use the same pattern, which doesn't look that great to me to start with. In terms of the bevelling, an inner bevel and outer bevel are used inconsistently throughout the theme. The menu bar doesn't seem to match at all. After looking at Daniel's web site, I really would've expected more. This could've been a sweet mockup, but it seems that too little time was spent on its design aesthetic.

This a really great concept but not executed that well. Bevel effects is just taking too much attention from controls itself.
Remember: K.I.S.S. (Keep it Simple Stupid). You do have a good stuff there but need to tone down the usage of layer effects to make it looks less "Photoshop-y"

As has been mentioned - Really good idea, bad execution. Those push button bevels are particularly yucky.

This is a fun theme, with the wood and dark metal elements. I'd love to use this if text issues don't hinder it. The widgets seem awkward though. Overall, it's a thumbs up.

Other than its, yes, photoshopy-ness, I think this is a nice idea. I'm sure it would look like a terrific theme if it was well-polished. Keep working on the themes!

The garage band stuff looks quite nice, but you need to make the bevels a lot smaller, or remove them. The titlebar and menubar does not look good and should be remade I think. Otherwise you have a good start for a theme.

Not to be redundant, but yeah, those PS bevel effects either need to go or be toned down a LOT. I'm all for the concept, and the LCD-ish blue text is probably my favorite design element from GarageBand, but I just can't stop looking at those bevels.

yes, i know, but Phillip know it, i have make this mockup in aprox. 1 hour. I want to create the "preview" if i can, i´ll like to make it better. But......

Eh, I like where you're going with it. The menus and menu bar need a lot of work. I like the progress bar element, and the style of the buttons. Comments about poor execution seem to apply, though.

I like this - remember it's a MOCKUP folks!
Keep with this - it could be a great them, IMHO.

Woah, sorry for being so late on this. Time to comment on all those mockups I didn't have a chance to get to before the contest went live...
My first impression of GABAT was fairly nice but it didn't have anything that really grabbed me at first glance. It's taken a lot of thinking, but I just might have an opinion now.
The backgrounds behind titlebar widgets are my favorite part. I'm not sure how well that color works with the grey, but it's cool and unique. -5 points for metal and aqua windows looking too similar, though,
The blue text looks good on the black, but not with the brown. Those 3 colors combine for a very cluttered, inconsistent, and overall confusing look. I just really don't know where to look first, and when my eye gets it can't focus because there's too much else clamoring for attention.
This is in complete contrast to the very plain menus, which almost seem as if they were taken from something else they feel so out of place. I like the Apple menu, but some non-white menus would have helped a lot. The gradient at the bottom of the menu also isn't possible, unfortunately.
This is all sounding more negative than I mean it to, the problem is just that the negative things grab my attention more than the positive. The slider and progress bars are very nice, they're just overshadowed by the rest of the elements.

It's a good idea for a theme. Just needs some elbow grease is all. ^.^

Huge thumbs up on the icon set! I would really like to see the full set made :)

Checkout the webpage he has posted - this theme needs to be made!
It only needs a few tweaks! Someone, take this one on.

To be honest, I believe that the first comment by William Bart was very negative and inappropriate. Comments should be used for constructive critisism. That first comment had none, and would probably not make the themer of this, Daniel, feel very good about himself. I hope you understand why I kept myself anonymous.

This mockup has great menus but not much else. The apple menu is just freakin' wonderful, and the fading menu selection highlight is quite cool.
The recessed look in the window titlebar is interesting, but the faux wood look distracts from it. Window titlebar text and inactive control text need a bit more ooomph, too.
This mockup definitely catches the attention. It's somewhat original, but I don't find it very aesthetically appealing. It looks like it should be pretty straight-forward to realize, with the exception of the glow around the popup buttons.

William Bart is the "author" of the infamous, non-existant, vapor-ware "Omega" super GUI kit from the heavens...AKA one bitter bastard that hasn't shown us anything to write home about.
So, GABAT has some work to do, but I hope someone makes this.
