sleekStyle
Author: Eric Sarmany
Final Score: 74%
Description: sleekStyle is a clean, simple theme designed for Mac OS X. Its color scheme is easy on the eyes and it blends well with many different styles of desktop wallpapers. It took many different color variations and styles before the final layout and scheme was decided upon, but in the end I believe this version to be quite distinctive without the common over-exaggerated graphics found in themes (and as such, it's not lacking in usability). I hope you enjoy the theme, and feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you may have.
Biography: sleekStyle is my first Mac theme. I frequently work on web-design, and after my friend Xanthic referred me to your awesome site, I figured I might as well give this theme contest a go. I have to say I enjoyed the project more than I had anticipated. I'm pretty satisfied with the results thus far, and I hope you are too.

Sleek it is. This theme reminds me of some of the video editing and audio editing apps which use their own internal GUI's. This will be popular with alot of people simply due to the fact that it is a sort of corporate Aqua. Nice.

It's corporate but a little muddy-looking for my tastes. Slick shapes though.

Good job with consistency. I like the titlebar more than I like the buttons, it would have been nice if there weren't aqua like and more in the style of the titlebar. Looks like a usable theme.

I love this. Puts the sleek in sleekStyle.

The titlebar buttons are very TiSkin like. but it looks so awesome. This is something I could use daily!

Too plane for my tastes, very aqua mod looking and uninteresting. Looks too much like the many other grey plastic/aqua themes submitted.

Kevin, William, and Max all said exactly what I wanted to say, only better.
Side note... scrollbar arrows seem a little off to me.

can anyone say modded tiSkin?

Thanks for the feedback thus far everyone. I was going for simplicity and usability, and I'm glad some people realize and like this. I have to say I'm a little surprised by some of the flat out curt feedback, but I guess that it goes with the territory.
Thanks again everyone. :)

Eric, you've got a very nice base design here. I agree with Max that perhaps you should consider doing the button elements in the same style as the titlebar itself -- but definitely keep the same color scheme you have going, it's really hot man. Also, the scrollbar arrows were mentioned as looking out of place... I would recommend you make them in the same style as the widgets -- bore out the metal buttons and fill the actual "arrow" cut-out with the navy-blueish color.

Most of the themes made me yawn, but yours looks so nice!

This theme is freakin' hot! It's extremely usable while still looking groovy. Makes me feel like I should be playing James Bond.
My only real suggestion is to spice up the menus a bit, possibly by applying the rounded bevel used on the buttons to the selected menu highlights.
This theme doesn't catch the attention hugely, but once you begin to look at it, you see that there's quite a bit of coolness there. It's also not super-original, but it's very well polished. It's most definitely aesthetically appealing, and should be pretty easy to implement.

Thanks for the feedback everyone; I really appreciate all of it. :)
Jason, I hadn't ever built or designed a Mac theme before, so I wasn't sure on the constraints of the design. If this gets made into a theme, I'd love to include some tweaks (like the rounded/shaded menu highlights). Looking at some of the other entries, I now have a better of idea of all that is possible in a design. :)

It's aqua - subdued, yet with even more shininess. Nifty for those that find aqua a little too candy-coated; this has a more official feel to it. I could see this sitting on my desktop for a long time.

Should've beeen in the top 6. The taste of the panel is suspect :-/

Thanks Aet and Philip. It really sucks that it went over so very poorly with the panel. Thanks again to everyone who voted for me; it was at the very least an awesome experience.
