Protean instantly reminded me of FatalE, but has some similarities (and major differences!) with other well known themes as well. There isn't anything here pushing technical limits, however it looks like a favorite for minimalism enthusiasts who still like the usability provided by a bit of contrast.

From what I've heard, this was a project that Carbon was feedbacking on, but was unfortunately the victim of a harddrive crash. I'm glad that Fluid is continuing it, and it definitely reminds me of Carbon's style... and the fact that he's semi-retired. :'(. Anyhow, I actually like it a bit more than FatalE, as it seems to have more contrast in the elements. If made, this may well become my favorite flat theme yet.

The Flash-design kids will definitely eat this one up. I quite like it, but the pixelated control glyphs seem a little out of place in soft-and-fuzzy OSX... curious as to how this one would actually play out if executed... a few elements wouldn't be do-able, in particular the continuous stroke around the window panes.

I think this is quite slick, however it suffers from one usability problem - the fact that radio buttons are the same square shape as check boxes. This is the same design choice as BBX Mercury has, and it's possible to ignore. Although I would prefer if it was rounded.
The theme itself look very usable and clean, although a little dull for my taste.

This mockup looks like a combination between FatalE and ChosenOS, which makes it a very good combination in my opinion. Basically, the author was able to eliminate one of the problems I've occasionally noticed in ChosenOS by adding a darker gray color to the palette for active elements. This works really well, as it's easy to tell which elements are active. The only problem I can think of with this mockup is its similarity to other minimalist designs such as the aforementioned FatalE and ChosenOS. In that sense, it may be a little too much of the same idea present in those two themes.

In love with this theme, it makes the theme I'm working on lok sad :) Now look what you did Fluid, you've made me crawl into a dark corner :P

I love it, it's just a little too bland. It needs something more...maybe a better color choice.

Ditto the Flash-kidz comment. Not my style, but very nicely done.

Is the lack of soft drop shadows a mistake or design decision? I don't think it would hurt to add them back in.

LOVE it! Good to here that it might be assigned a themer.

Yeah, it definitely needs the drop shadows under the windows and menubar.
