Some More News
Nope, the entries aren't viewable yet, since there's still a day left for people to submit :). However, in the meanwhile, we are working hard on processing the entries, and the site of course has gone under a facelift, thanks to Adam and Jan's hard work. The best part is, everything works now in IE 6, so Windows users should have no problem viewing their entries.
And that's not all. Kevin Husted of Swizcore Studio and Joe Loy of [fear]platinum have joined the contest, in addition to Max Rudberg, Joe Kohlmann, Harlan Lewis, and Mike to help create the winners, meaning that all six winners will now have the chance to make their ideas into reality!
Finally, I'm sure that many of you are anxiously awaiting the chance to see what's been entered so far. The schedule as of now is to process entries through Wednesday, then put up user voting that evening or the morning after. In the meanwhile, I will continue to post news as the contest progresses. (As you may have noticed, the contest page will be the site's home for the next week or so.) Yes, there are a few more days to wait, but it'll definitely be worth it.

The Site isn't rendered correctly with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.2.3 (Mac)
Posted by Jan at March 29, 2004 10:30 AM
Nico,
First, this appears to be a specific IE:mac bug. It incorrectly calculates the width of the paragraph when it has an image aligned to the left or right.
That said, I'm not going to clutter the CSS and HTML with hackerish constructions to fix the incorrect rendering of a dead and unsupported browser :)

Site redesign looks fantastic. Glad to see Kevin and Joe joining the list of skinners.
I can't wait to see the entries.

Wow, it's a shame that this is just a contest layout... I almost like it as much as the standard one. That blue background is pretty easy on the eyes.
Oh, and I'm looking forward to seeing the entries too, though honestly, I pretty much just posted to say how nice this layout is.

Can someone explain to me how the entries are being shown at the top right? I indeed had about 6 or 7 of them apparently seen by visitors who wandered into the archives page (promptly deleted), and I'm very against having you guys see them early. So please tell me how you are doing this :D (Email me.)
Posted by Phillip Ryu at March 30, 2004 07:58 AM
Ok, for all of you themers who had your entries seen earlier by a few clever readers, I apologize. This was a pretty stupid mistake on my part, and has been fixed.

Posted by Phillip Ryu at March 30, 2004 01:55 PM
See the entries? I'm hoping wednesday night.
Winners? I'm guessing saturday? Or maybe even monday. (End user voting Saturday night, determine scores and such by Monday.)

Good government never depends upon laws, but upon the personal qualities of
